Alexia Avina
Alexia Avina is an experimental ambient-folk artist born and raised in Southeast Asia, previously based in Montreal and now living in Brooklyn. Her most recent album Unearth was released jointly by Topshelf Records (US) and Lost Map (UK) and captures much about what makes her so special – minimal, arrhythmic and tempo-based looping, ethereal melodic hooks, beauty, spaciousness and restraint. The follow up to Unearth, A Little Older, is set to release end of April on Lost Map Records.
Nighttime
"As Nighttime, Goodman performs warm bedroom folk that sounds unearthed from the year 1970 alongside the likes of Sibylle Baier and Vashti Bunyan. Contemplative arrangements of acoustic guitar and violin; gossamer webs of vocal harmonies; and enigmatic lyrics feting the changing of the seasons are swaddled in gently reverbed production that sounds both intimate and expansive.” – Stephanie Barclay, Bandcamp
