After a six year hiatus from performing, the prolific neo-folk artist known as Backworld, AKA Joseph Budenholzer, will be stopping through. Budenholzer has collaborated with members of Current 93, Coil, and Strawberry Switchblade. Anyone who is a fan of good songwriting will find something to appreciate here!
Local support by The Infinity Ring, the collaborative project of Cam Moretti and friends. Moretti’s brooding vocals and guitar are supplemented by an ever-evolving backdrop of full band instrumentation and experimental electronics. This will be a special collaborative set with Rotgut God
Cradle of Judah, the New England based dark folk project of Gabriel O’Hara Durkee, will also perform.
Backworld grew out of the World Serpent apocalyptic folk scene in London, combining traditional English folk, experimental and minimalist classical with fin de siecle mysticism.
Founder Joseph Budenholzer’s collaborators include Antony Hegarty (Anohni), Little Annie, Lydia Lunch, Isobel Campbell, Jarboe, David Tibet, Michael Cashmore, Drew McDowall, MAYa Hardinge, and Ridge Theater.
