From 10F Bartender @_emma_paulie_:
Come and sing with me!
Absolutely NO experience required, just an open heart, open ears and a willingness to try.
In addition to your lovely self, you might consider bringing things like a water bottle, a mask, cough drops, a notebook (if you are more of a visual learner) something to do with your hands, shareable snacks, and also everyone you've ever met.
I will be leading accessible and beautiful harmony songs by ear (so you don't need to read music, you don't need to read at all!) and we will move at the appropriate speed of the group.
Singing Club is open to folks of all ages-kiddos gotta sing too!--but i'll be speaking and choosing songs with "adults" in mind. Singing Club is also donation based; suggested $10-20, but of course no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
I come from a big family of community song leaders and musicians all over the amateur-professional spectrum. Singing, especially in groups, has been central to my life since before I can remember; it is the right and pleasure of anyone who wants to do it to any capacity.
When we sing together, our brains release oxytocin, the 'love' hormone, same one as when we get a good hug n kiss! Yum! I believe singing in a group helps us practice things like patience, listening, community and empathy; practices that I am convinced we all need to prioritize in a devastating and divisive world.
And speaking o' which...
a note on COVID and other illnesses: we want to keep each other safe!!! If you have been exposed to ANY illness or are experiencing ANY symptoms, kindly stay home and astral project to the song circle and we will love to sing with you next time. thx!
This will be WEEKLY for the foreseeable future and we can make it whatever we want!
If you have any questions, suggestions or compliments for me, don't hesitate to reach out!
Just come sing with me for goodness sake!
ok? ok, good. love you!
All ages, suggested donation $10-20, notaflof.
Masks appreciated, elevator access available through Mesa Verde foyer.
