Please note: this is a mask-required event!
With community partnerships, we invite you to a comprehensive overdose response training by Frank Osten, a FREE narcan & test strips distro from Tapestry Harm Reduction, and a film screening at 10 Forward starting @ 6pm to highlight and honor stories of Queer and Trans survival and resistance.
This event is free with an ask for voluntary donations $5-20 to NELCWIT's client assistance fund which directly assists sexual assault and domestic violence survivors with accessing groceries, gas, new sheets, hotel stays, and more. We will have vegan baked items free/suggested donation and special local artist goods, including cyanotype t-shirts featuring Goldin’s photography, for raffle. 10 Forward's bar will be open with alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages for sale.
Our chosen film, "All the Beauty and Bloodshed", is an epic, emotional and interconnected story about internationally renowned artist and activist Nan Goldin told through her slideshows, intimate interviews, ground-breaking photography, and rare footage of her personal fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the opioid crisis. Goldin's work captures moments of grief, power, resistance, loss & joy in LGBTQ community through her childhood, the HIV/AIDs epidemic, and into her adult life organizing for accountability, harm reduction, and safe drug use with P.A.I.N. (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now).
We hope you’ll join us for this special event that materially supports survivors in our community <3
ACCESSIBILITY: film will have closed captioning on for the duration! Masks required!
