The Heavy Culture Cooperative is hosting its first Member Meetup at Four Phantoms Brewing Company in the afternoon, then moving everyone to 10 Forward for the night show, featuring Greenfield hardcore punks Bent (@benttheband), Boston sludge titans Cazador (@cazadorsludge) and Northampton black metal maniacs Olde Bard (@oldebard).

THCC (pronounced “thick”) is a cooperative owned and operated by workers, artists, and fans. THCC was founded in 2022 with the goal of establishing a music and performing arts venue that embraces various subcultures within the underground arts community. While we work on securing our own space, we are excited to bring heavy music to other venues across western Massachusetts.

In the early days of Covid-19 when most of the country was shutdown, the original demos that would become Bent were conceived in the home studio of former My Last Flight/Otherthings guitarist and songwriter Dustin Yager. With the help of Lich King/PWRUP drummer Brian Westbrook, the songs were tweaked and refined but there were no immediate plans to start a band or release music. After a chance meeting with Outer Stylie/Eat Fire Spring drummer Monte Arnstam, Dustin and Monte worked on the demo songs for over a year before the full band was formed. After struggling to find reliable members to fill out the line up, legendary hardcore bassist and former The Grave/Graceland member Craig Lynde joined up. The line up was finalized a few months later with the addition of veteran musician and recording engineer, Marc Seedorf and upstate New York native Ben Delozier. Each band member's diverse taste in music has helped expand the sound of Bent into a catchy blend of Hardcore Punk, Post Hardcore and Metal. Bent's first single "Chasing Monsters" was released in the late summer of 2022 with a full length album slated for release in 2023.
