Monthly Cajun and Honky-Tonk Two-Step Night
No Cover, bring cash for the bands, we’ll be passing a bucket!
Les Taiauts plays Cajun dancehall music from Southwest Louisiana, via Western Mass. Driving two-steps, mournful waltzes, janky but beautiful French-language take-offs of obscure mid-century rockabilly songs, and more. Accordion, fiddle, steel guitar, and a rock solid rhythm section for your dancing pleasure. Come dance, and learn how to pronounce the band name as a bonus.
A Cajun and Honky Tonk Two-Stepping dance lesson will be provided.
---AND---
The Honky Tonk Angels play old-style Country and Western Music. Featuring some of The Old Fashioneds (https://www.reverbnation.com/theoldfashioneds), some of Les Taiauts, some others… and (for the Karaoke portion of the night) you.
A little bit about Live-Band Country Karaoke:
We'll have a list of songs that we can back you up on - complete with lyrics - and you can sign up for a song. Mostly classics (Hank Williams, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, etc) with a few modern pop country hits (The Chicks, Shania Twain, and more) thrown in there.
If you know the words AND chords to a song and can lead it on a guitar, you can request it even if it's not in the book. BYO lyrics and chords.
Masks appreciated. Elevator access available through Mesa Verde foyer.
